Welcome to the newly establised Midlands Adventure Racing Sqaud(M.A.R.S). We are a group of like minded indivuals who want to push ourselves as hard as we can and in the process raise some money and awarness for . We are committed to placing well in our main event An Turas Mor a 4 day world series event

Adventure Racing, huh?

Adventure racing (AR) is a combination of two or more disciplines, including orienteering and navigation, cross-country running, mountain biking, paddling and climbing and related rope skills. An expedition event can span ten days or more while sprints can be completed in a matter of hours. The main ethos behind AR is to compete and work as a team.

Charity

We also selected our charity. Any donations we receive will go directly to Barnardos‘.

Barnardos’ Vision is an Ireland where childhood is valued and all children and young people are cherished equally.

Barnardos’ Mission is to challenge and support families, communities, society and government to make Ireland the best place in the world to be a child, focusing specifically on children and young people whose well-being is under threat.

Plans

We are planning to take part in a number of training races in the lead up to our big event in June, with plenty of training in between so if you care to join us at any stage do send us an email
